I'm a homeless writer

by Matt   Sep 23, 2008

Stopped by this library to shed a tear on this digital paper
Been homeless now 3 months adventurous capers
For one week I haven't spoke I just can't relate
With people who are late to ever important dates

When you're homeless you get bored there's nothing to do
Solitary time just staring at my shoes
Some give me change and ask for my name
I wonder if they care or just playing a game

I really failed hard I have a daughter too
I just couldn't wake up every morning and face the zoo
I wish I could have it both ways, be free and have her
But she deserves so much better and I'm such a cur

A week of not talking you'd think I'd have more to say
But all of us really are stupid sheep that way
I can't stay in this library much longer I feel caged in
Hope I get to write some more soon and hello to my friends.

Top poem in terms of rawness but the poetry sucks compared to usual.

Then again, sometimes poetry is poetic not by the words written, but by the words unspoken. This is one of those.
