The feelings win

by Tangible heartache   Sep 23, 2008

Sitting on the beach, with the tide coming in,
Wondering if I should do it, and let the feelings win,
Let the cold water, take me down on under,
Kill myself, at the strike of thunder,

I stand up, and look down into the waters reflection,
Tears fall, as I see the painful direction,
Sadly, it seems like my life has gone way wrong,
What was I supposed to do, when I couldn't stay strong?

I ran, ran away from all I ever knew,
Wrongly, the only thing I knew was you,
And now that you are gone, everything's so sad,
How was I supposed to be, it was all I ever had,

Slipping into the water, it's cold to the bone,
This is what happens, when you feel so alone,
You begin to doubt yourself, and give in,
You let everything go, and let the pain win,

Sinking into the ocean, cries erupt from me,
The water covers my head, and blackness is all I see,
Screaming, my lungs beg for the sweet air,
But I won't let it, life just isn't fair,

Water fills my mouth, with a salty taste,
What use was I; I was such a waste,
Looking in all directions, there is nothing to see,
My body sinking lower, of what used to be me.
