Beauty on the inside

by Tangible heartache   Sep 24, 2008

Leaves crunch under her booted feet,
As snow begins to fall upon her tongue,
She spins around like a little girl again,
She loves the feel of being so young,

Watching each tiny little crystal,
Fall upon the cold frozen ground,
The trees so barren and dark,
But yet it's so beautiful all around,

Up above her little curled head,
Lies rain clouds frightening and dark,
Little spurts of breath come out in clouds,
And her cheeks flush, and eyes alight with sparks,

This is her favorite season,
Where no matter what or how,
Beauty lies all around us,
Reflecting what matters on the inside now.

Wow, this stanza alone was so amazing and really drew me into this. Wonderful wording, that I felt like I was really there.

So very true, I feel the same way, nice rhyming choice.

Overall, great work, this piece was flawless to me, and really had me entranced by your words. You certainly captured the beauty of winter perfectly and your ending stanza was great too! Keep writing, always and forever...
