Why is it so hard?

by Tangible heartache   Sep 25, 2008

The soft patter of rain,
Falling upon my sad face,
The sweet smells fragrance,
The warm-wet embrace,

The whoosh of the leaves,
Swaying in the night air,
Hiding so many secrets,
Of a lovers affair,

The darkened street,
So threatening and dead,
My face so blank,
But thoughts circling in my head,

Thunder clashing in the distance,
Lightning strikes in the sky,
I look down at my feet,
And tears fall from my eyes,

How can the world be so cruel?
And others be so hurt and scarred?
Why is it so tough to be nice?
Why is it so very hard?

Beautiful. the imagery is good in this poem, because it's so descriptive.

    The darkened street,
    So threatening and dead,
    My face so blank,
But thoughts circling in my head,

^^ favourite stanza. idk why, it's just.. a good way of putting things.

    nice work.
