Not a mistake

by Tangible heartache   Sep 28, 2008

Every day she puts on a smile for everyone to see,
Every day she fakes a laugh for everyone to hear,
She tries to make people happy and glad,
Even when she can't wipe away her own tears,

She'd wake up and put on her mask,
Go to school and pretend nothing was wrong,
She'd give you the answers to anything,
But not to a breaking heart that wasn't strong,

She'd sacrifice her only joy,
Just to see someone smile,
Even when she couldn't,
She'd make you feel worthwhile,

But every day she'd go home,
And feel her heartache,
She just wanted someone to help,
And tell her she wasn't a mistake.

Been there and felt that. I know what its like living in a world you feel you dont belong, always hiding behind a mask as to not bother others and always having to be happy. That just makes me think of me.

...you're not a mistake, sweetie. you were put here for a reason. i promise you this. you'll find out soon... just keep your head up, your chest out, your mind in tact. believe in who you are and strive to find out... why you are who you are.
