My Tears [Etheree]

One
by one
they slowly
fall down my face,
reminding me of
what I want to forget.
the sweet bitterness lingers
in my dry mouth, leaving sadness
burning through my damp eyes, and sinking
towards my grey and faded aching heart.
I sit here, alone with nothing but tears,
streaming quickly down my frozen face
like dead leaves, floating in the wind.
one by one, each tear dissolves,
leaving me with a cold
vast emptiness, deep
inside of me.
