Frenemies

by Kayl   Sep 30, 2008

It started with a laugh and went with a cry,
friends forever--wait never, goodbye.
Secrets were told, said to have grown old.
Boys were had, she always got mad.
I thought i could cope, now i'm looking at that rope.
I thought we could work things out, but it seems i am in doubt.
I tried to fix things, i tried to make things right, but all we do, it seems, is fight.
We're fighting to stay friends,
we're fighting to be foes,
we're fighting over ex's,
we're even fighting over ho*es.

We shared some firsts,
drunken and high.
We shared our dreams, with hope for no goodbyes.
We're looking for that day,
That day we could come back, say how we've lost track.
The day we decided to forget the immaturities of our younger years, and smile with some tears.

But I'm afraid that's left for dream land.
I think we are just d*mned.

So as a frenemy of the ages, i will say to you one last thing:
although we had ended with a rather bad sting,
you were my friend and will always be,
a part of me and the life I will live.

I have learnt and cried.
I have laughed and lied.

With you, i will take these scissors, and with a heavy heart, cut the rope that will tear us apart.
