Terribly Perfect

by Evelyn   Oct 3, 2008

I've never loved you,
You've never loved me.
We're from different sides of the score board.
We've loved no one.
I never plan to.
Nor, do you.

Two different people,
Complete opposites.
It's like we're different species
In two different worlds,
Destined to never meet.
Yet here you are,
By my side,
Holding me gently.

Your body is warm,
Your hands...
Inspiring.
My head on your chest,
Hands folded behind your back.
I dissolve into your form.
Everything feels like it should.
Nothing is wrong,
But I don't love you.
You don't love me.
We've loved no one,
And we don't plan to
Yet how can we resist?

We're terrible for one another,
But we stay together,
In spite of what we'll ever truly feel.
Perhaps that is the reason.
We are so wrong for another,
So we're perfect for each other.

I've never loved you,
You've never loved me.
We're from different sides of the scored board.
We've loved no one.
I never plan to.
Nor, do you.
How terribly perfect.
