Losing you

by Kate   Oct 4, 2008

'cause another day is never really guaranteed
and as your wounds begin to bleed
I wonder when my day will come
and it makes my heart beat like a drum

I look into your eyes
and all I can see are your lies
did you honestly think I'd fall for it again
like I did way back then

Now the tables have turned
and now it's your turn to learn
that what you did was wrong
and I've now grown strong

I wont let you back in my life
and it cuts me like a knife
Losing you is the hardest thing I've had to do
but I can't risk falling back in love with you

Now it's time to leave this place
I'll be gone without a trace
And baby before dawn
I promise to be long gone

  • Wonderful poem...i felt the sadness of the speaker leaving her love, but also the determination to not be brought down by the pain. The wording was siimple but with a lot of emotion.

    >this is my favorite stanza, it shows the pain and determination i mentioned earlier so well.
and i a can relate to it too.
