Meant

Can I say I understand now?
That I truly fathom the meaning of her words
That maybe I am perfect
Not in the sense of the word perfection
But to her I am perfect

She sees that I honestly try to be perfect towards her
She notices that maybe this kiddy guy might be someone I shall truly care about
That maybe, just maybe, she can look into my eyes and be able to say,
"He really does care about me"
For once I feel as if there is not enough time for us

That time is my main obstacle between us
Minutes with her feel like seconds
Hours shorten to minutes
Holding her close comforts my soul
Our breathing almost rhythmic

This is what I feel
The feeling of unknown affection
Love?
Not sure if it has developed that far yet
But, I am sure someone planned we were meant to be

This was written for my girlfriend at the moment. I still care about her. And I still think she's perfect.

This poem is amazing. I believe people can relate to the whole...trying to please someone. And how you describe the "hours shortening to minutes" That is very true and I'm sure everyone has someone that has that effect on them
