The Road Less Taken

by HollyNichole   Oct 16, 2008

I look back behind me
And I see the road I tread
It has but one set of foot prints
And I wonder what life I've led

All around my tracks
Are leaves that line the road
They're all magnificent colors
Like red, green, brown, and gold

As I get a closer look
I see the leaves are me
Every joy and sorrow
Every doubt and uncertainty

Every love and heartbreak
Every laugh and tear
All my insecurities
The regrets and all the fears

The decisions that I've made
And all the things I've known
All the things I've felt and thought
On the leaves, all is shown

The path is long and rugged
Filled with twists and turns
Everything I've ever done
And everything I've learned

I turn and look ahead of me
And try to see things unseen
Looking for what leaves could fall
And wondering what they mean

I prepare to take a step
And brace for whats to come
Knowing this path will never end
And not knowing what I'll become

Beautiful. I liked that the leaves were you. Flowed wonderfully. Nicely done. 5/5

Interestingly enough, I feel the same way sometimes.

Keep up the good work! =D
