The Night Comes, the Night Falls

by Kayla   Oct 16, 2008

The night comes, the night falls
She cries out loud and holds her doll
Daddy came in with an angry face
She prayed for her fears to be erased

The morning comes, the morning falls
She covers her bruise, she covers them all
Walking to school, away from the pain
She wonders why her daddy is insane

The evening comes, the evening falls
No supper tonight, no supper at all
The lash of the belt, the hit of a fist
She covers her face and doesn’t want to exist

The morning comes, the morning falls
She lays there not moving at all
Her life was taken, her life was at end
Morning will never come again
