Words of Advice.

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Oct 19, 2008

This is a world of liars.
Where most of the people act.
You could almost see it in their eyes.
That with the devil they made a pact.

Some people will fool you.
And laugh at you when you turn.
Then you become desperate.
And for a better world you yearn.

You stay true to your belief.
And you stick to your guns.
But some people sell their friends for money.
And their daughters and their sons.

Cynicism might be good sometimes.
It protects you from the wild.
This world is a forest.
People on top of each other piled.

Sometimes you have to be a lion.
To scare the disloyal beasts.
But when they see you fall down.
They celebrate a feast.

Beware of those who are cowards.
They always break their word.
They sway wherever the wind blows.
Like a shepherd following his herd.

I don't have words to tell you.
Other than watch your back.
And if too much people ride on it.
It will eventually crack.

Wow, this is another one of your true and very inspirational poems. The only thing I can say is that in this line > "And if too much people ride on it." in the last stanza, the "much" should be "many." Other than that flawless, 5/5. Em
