Painful love

by arabelle   Oct 20, 2008

Knives are the words you speak to me
As I tremble in the wake of your disdain
And inwardly crumble underneath your stare

The velvet of your voice is crushing
As you whisper your hate laced words
And scowl at the fact you know me

You tease my heart into longing for you
As you smile your sinful smirk
And give me a taste of what I can't have

You presence is intoxicating
As you laugh and play without worries
And brightly show your beauty

Slowly you crush and break my heart
As I faithfully hope for your love
And desperately long for your kindness

Never have I seen such a beautiful sight
As joy and contentment light up your face
And your eyes glisten for all but me

Our hisses and sneers fill up the room
As we fight again and again
And I say I hate you when I wish to say I love you

You will never know of my love
As we scream and we yell
And drown out my hushed affections

I am cursed with everlasting love for my hater
As you turn away from me
And I finally see pain for the first time
