Wishing

by Matthew Schut   Oct 23, 2008

Laying in the grass
Gazing into the sky
Why are so many people lonely
But no one can see them cry

Many people are out there
With a heart so broken
Pain is all they feel
But words are never spoken

They keep everything built inside
Wishing they could just end their life
Waiting for that one thing to push them off
Cutting themselves daily with a knife

I just saw a shooting star shoot across the sky
But how many other people are wishing for it too
How many other people are wishing for a special someone
And are any of those wishes really going to come true

Why must people have to live with pain every day
Right when you thought you had everything right
Why does it have to hurt so bad to let go
And again I go to bed lonely tonight
