The Thief's Story

by Kellie   Oct 26, 2008

He lives by the sword
And his only reward
Is to find himself free again
He's a thief by the night
Not a trace of contrite
Just a memory of where he has been.

He runs with the shadows
Hiding from gallows
A place he is destined to be
He is hunted by most
Yet is never kept close
In desperate attempts to flee.

When men come by
He is quiet and sly
Sinking back into the wall
Wait for them to pass
To continue his task
Stealing treasures from all.

Yet when he is found
He makes not a sound
But moves with his sword by his side
Parry to right
As he joins the fight
Swords ring loud as they collide.

They slash and they block
But can never unlock
The secrets of the thief's skill
Ducking down low
To avoid a high blow
Both men aiming to kill.

Bring his sword down
To slash near the ground
Yet the thief jumps over with ease
He makes a swift strike
Puts an end to the fight
And again the thief runs free.
