Alone On Father's Day

You Stumbled In The Door,
Bottle In Your Hand.
Took A Swig, Looked Around,
And Tried Your Best To Stand.

I Looked Over At You,
This Scene Sure Isn't New,
And Then I Got Up From My Seat
To Help You To Your Room.

I Watched You Pass Out On The Bed,
Your Body Lay Askew.
Then I Sat Down On The Couch
And Waited Up For You.

Sure Enough, You Came Out
And Headed For The Door.
You Were All Out Of Beer
And Felt The Need For More.

I Wish I Knew Ahead Of Time
To Never Let You Leave.
For Now You're Gone Forever
And It's Truly Killing Me.

You Drank Yourself To Death
And Your Liver Had Collapsed.
I Feel Like It's All My Fault
And It's Kind Of Hard To Grasp.

I Can't Believe I Let You Go,
But That's The Price I Pay.
And Now I Sit Here By Myself,
Alone On Father's Day.

Your sadness is felt in this write…but do not blame yourself for what happen…I to had this same type of father that drank himself to death…it is a sickness/addiction that only that person can say they want to get help…some do and some do not before it is too late….may you find peace and joy deep within your once again in your heart one day soon….take care young lady.
