Frozen

Pain makes us stronger,
But only to a certain degree.
So much pain could hurt us,
Tear us apart... So now I'm sitting all on my own,
Wondering where we went wrong.
When I breathe my breath hangs in the air.
My heart's frozen over,
And I can't break the ice.
In the black hole of confusion,
All I want is you.
I speak your name aloud,
And the darkness closes in.
All this pain you bring me,
I can't use words to explain it,
But it's not as if you care.
I was there for you,
But you let me fall,
Once you pushed me down to dirt,
I became a waste of time.
I'm sorry I couldn't be who you want me to.
I've pretended enough around you,
I honestly can't do it anymore.
And if you ask to pretend rather than try to fix it, what kind of friend are you?
You always said `Friends Forever'
I guess you only meant until you wore our emotions to the bone.
So now I sit,
In my freezing cold hole,
With my lingering breath,
And my frozen heart.
As the snow starts to fall,
A small tear freezes on my cheek.
