Little Girl.

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Nov 3, 2008

The spark in your eyes has disappeared.
Little Girl.
I thought you persevered.
Little Girl.

You no longer laugh out loud.
That laugh of yours which grabs the crowd.
Little Girl.

You no longer live for today.
Little Girl.
Your sky is always gray.
Little Girl.

Where is that beautiful face?
The one full of grace?
Those eyes of yours are so tired.
From life it is uninspired.

You lost the excitement and fun.
Little Girl.
From happiness you always run.
Little girl.

Was it that bad?
Little girl?
Are you really that sad?
Little girl?

When the chips were down.
Wasn't someone around?
Or everybody left you?
When they saw you hit the ground?

I've been through the same.
Little girl.
But I overcame so should you.
Little girl.

When you're in the dark.
Everybody wants the light.
Some people will choose.
Between fight and flight.

There will be those who will help you.
Little girl.
And there will be those who you will really get to know.
Little girl.

Little girl.. Hang on there.
Things will get better if you wait.
If you don't start to toughen up.
People will use you as bait.

Be patient.. Little girl.
The sun will shine after the heavy rain.
And the flowers will bloom after the hurricane passes.
Little girl.. Strength runs in your veins.
