Nothing Is Free

Happiness = $25 for a bottle of ecstasy
Sadness = endings to the times you kept
Heartache = one last hug to the ones you love
Tears = the empty rooms that produced them
Smiles = the courage to fake them
Love = the fear that terrorizes your hope
Shoulders = the impact when they fall
Backs = the heaviness you bear, the way they turn on you
Heads = the shaking aftermath of deep thoughts
Hands = the trouble you have of letting go
Words = the actions you take to erase them
Legs = the stiffness that keeps you in one place
Stomachs = the bruises from where your heart fell
Hearts = the tape you use to rebandage them every night
Eyes = the burning sensation of one last look
Walking = the credit you get for learning early
Windows = your one last escape
Doors = the center of your escape route
Time = the substance you abuse and you can't get enough
People = the ones that either criticize or hold on
Death = the wings that belong to someone else
Air = the archive of your broken flight
Clouds = the nonexistant form of hiding
Mirrors = the reflection that moves you farther away
Walls = the cuts on your fists
Voices = the screams that go off like silent sirens
Buses = your one last break
Dead Ends = the stop signs that force you to turn around

The price always goes to show
You take what you're given before you know
That you alright until you looked around
And realized the whole finds these things on the ground
