Fly Away

by brie kelly wise   Nov 8, 2008

I'm tired of beings scared of heights
I'm gonna kick my wings into gear
And live like I can fly
There we go, there's nothing left to fear
The only way to understand
Is to see the world's shadow
I used to chase mine, and now I know I can
The sky is the only place non shallow
I envy birds and their terror in flight
But when they pick me up off the ground
They give me a new goal, better sight
I'll just tape up these broken wings and fly around
I have faith in the stars that haunted me
As I spent my nights on a rooftop gazing upwards
Only until I get in the air, there is so much unseen
For tonight, I was destiny to look towards
The planes I used to ride are no longer in commission
For tonight, I'm forgetting how to walk
Someday I'll look back and tell everyone to listen
Because tonight, our dreams are no longer talk
