Wish That Were Me

by WitherBlisterBurnandPeel   Nov 12, 2008

For I wish I could be like them
the ones who always smile
the ones who actually mean it
maybe just for a little while

Stretch out their nice soft skin
breathe what they get to breathe
wake up with no burdens to bear
so then I no longer have to seethe

Drive in my nice new expensive car
the one that my own father bought
go eat breakfast with my entire family
with questions to the answers I sought

I will be good at everything I try
Go through life with pure ease
Never stumbling to get back up
cause I never was put on my knees

Would I truly enjoy this life?
I know it's something I desire
but to lose the things I love
such as my mind's ongoing fire

To take away the thing I value most
wouldn't be worth it in my eyes
So I will make what's best of it
Continue giving words to the unwise
