His eyes.

She looked into his eyes. For once she saw past the dark brown, and saw him. The gleam that sparkled was something that she had never noticed before; his eyes showed her the person that she had been searching for all along.

He saw that look in her eyes, the one that he had hoped to see sooner. She smiled at him, and he lost his breath. She felt it, he knew she did. He brought his hand up and let it gently glad across her soft, perfect cheek. As his hand fell, it found hers, and he pulled her close into him.

When he put his arms around her, she felt his warmth, his strength, and his love. She buried her head into his chest further, and as the sweet scent of his cologne wash over her senses, she knew she was home.

He felt her cool tears stream down his chest, but he said nothing. Instead, he only held her closer to him. She looked up at him with those eyes, and without breathing a word, he told her how much he loved her and couldn't love without her. And as if she knew what he was going to say next, she just smiled, and with the same breathless expression, she said, "forever".
