My All

I gave you my all, but it wasn't enough
I poured my heart out to you, it was tough
But I wanted you to know everything about me
All my flaws, my past, the things you cannot see

I changed myself into what you asked
I turned into someone I didn't recognize, I was masked
But I did not care, I wanted your love
I was willing to do anything, to be above

To be above all those other contenders
Can't you see? I am better than those pretenders
I can win this game; I can win your heart
I will be by your side, we will never part

But wait, hold up, I am worth more than this
I am a person with feelings, yeah, they do exist
I do not have to cater to your every desire
I can be strong, on my own, I can break higher

I am sick of giving everything and getting nothing in return
All I ask of you is to show a little compassion, some concern
'Coz I tricked myself into believing I could make this work
When in the end, no matter what I do, you're still gonna be a jerk.

I looked after you when you needed a hand
But now it is time that you learnt to stand
On your own two feet instead of mine
'Coz I am over you.

    Althought this poem is wonderfull and i enjoy it and you seem very intrested and into that guy .

    but girly , if yuo ask me donjt cahnge for anyone . be your self . either he want you or not . if you change for someont he will love somone other then you . you are not the person he fell in love with !!

    A poem with a twist...i really enjoyed the wonderful read...I'm sure a lot of people can relate themself with your poem.

    yeah i agree with loverboy do not change yourself for anyone...im sure that special someone will find you and appreciate you for who you are

    This is one very confusing !! lvoe or hate or both

    a thin line btw them no one can know for sure, !!

    a word of advice , never totaly change for anyone , who love you , his love will change you , to the better slowly , and you wont even notice !

    you uised a lot of simple wording made the poem great to read , and simple to understand the emotion and the flow is great !
