Pieces of Paper

by Twisted Heart   Nov 28, 2008

Under moon, dark lonely moon
I stared down at the page
The bits of words stared back at me
Like puppets on a stage
The twist of letters blurred so fast
As teardrops fell from eyes
Simple words that meant so much
Wrapped up now in your lies.

Under moon, dark lonely moon
The witness to my heart
Dipped deep within the paper cage
Turned words that fell apart
Unkind of soul that knew so well
The truth came way too late
Masked under words of love they came
Now lost inside their fate.

Under moon, dark lonely moon
I ripped the vows we made
And let the words fall to the ground
Dark pieces of the page
Now scattered in the wind they are
Like love that we once shared
Dark lonely moon, you see my pain
A witness to each tear.

I absolutely loved this, there is something I always find so good about your poetry , the flow is so smooth and perfect.
The content of this really struck me, words can be such powerful things and yet so often deceitful and false and yet we still long so much to hear them. a beautiful write
