Blissful Beginnings, Scary Endings

by Zach Buenger   Dec 1, 2008

Shooting down a hall of treasures
Making the senses combine
Shops that tingle the pupils
Smells that dazzle the nostrils
Sights that scorch the ears
Everything imaginable jumbles into one
Opening the door to every store
Each entrance leads to a world unknown
Timidly walking in
Scoping out the possibilities
While surveying my surroundings
People hustling, People bustling
Almost seem scared
Running around likes ants from a human hand
Morphing out a corner
I am greeted by an unknown
Is this person the reason?
The reason everyone seems so scared
Are they hurrying to get away?
To get away from this smiling creature
Who seems alien like.
The fake enthusiasm frightens me
I will leave the others to deal with…
This Thing.
I back peddle not to alarm it,
Then turn and run.
When I get to safety its time to take my leave
While opening the doors to the real world
I sense a familiarly presence
And turn to see what it is.
My sixth sense kicks in
And shrieks, RUN
