Black On The Outside Darkened On The Inside

by Nawa   Dec 6, 2008

Swollen darkness
Enriching the fear
Outside appearance a mask of grief
Hidden thoughts not ready to be revealed

You look in the mirror and you don't like what you see
You spill those tears but no one is allowed to perceive
Anxiety arises as the nightmare is unleashed
And you overdose on this phobia of yours

You draw your face solemnly with black
Eyes concealed with layers of charcoal
Lips are sealed dreary and somber

I try to reach you but you are slipping further
On the verge of a breakdown like a ticking bomb
Trying to escape time and break apart

You're not looking for empathy nor their sympathy
You might be lost but in your mind you found your world
You do belong in a world where you are not judged
A world normal to yourself
A world beyond their understanding
