Unexpected

by Paige Lea   Dec 8, 2008

I don't know what I'm doing,
I can't breathe in this thick air.
Your memory is fading
Along with my will to care.

I see you in the hallways,
And cannot help but lie.
If I tell you I'm not crying,
It's an easier good-bye.

Sometimes I wish you loved me.
Sometimes I can't let go.
Though I know that it is over,
Sometimes I want you to know.

But then there are those moments
When I couldn't give a damn.
Your memory keeps fading
Along with who I am.

I hate the way you talk to me
Like you don't know what you did.
Why don't you see it hurts me
As you sit there and you kid?

Ever since you let go,
I've slowly fallen apart.
It was so unexpected.
I can't believe you broke my heart.
