The Failure Pirates

by BornAgainWriter   Dec 10, 2008

Sailing on a ship in the sea on a important quest,
In a hurry to be the first one there to see it all,
I have to keep my ship running, without no rest,
Standing here, ordering around-talking with Paul.

Limping over to the table before my eyes,
A treasure map spread out with a big red X,
X marks the spot where we must repeat our tries,
I refuse to give up, we will find this red X.

Reaching the yellow sandy shore of a deserted island,
With my plan A, B and C of finding this treasure,
"Arrrrgh", I must get it; I must find my diamond,
I'm anxiously growing to the highest level; eagerly.

Finding the red X near a garden full of palm trees; green,
Digging around finding the buried chest with my hands,
I'll get my treasure; and I'll find my queen,
Only finding out the treasure isn't within the sands.

I love pirates, I love this. The captain's frustration is nearly tangible. That made my day.

Fourth line doesn't quite work, mind, the rest is good.

The 'I must find that red X' just made me snort, for some reason. And the title. The title is brilliant. Oh, pirates? ARRR! Not ARRGH! ARRR! *Tuts at you*

And... Oh yeah... Last line second stanza... Er... What? I don't quite understand... 'the highest level; eagerly?' It just evades me, sorry.

But yeah, bloody funny poem, and apart from my little nitpicks, very well done.
