Every promise you made...

by Ash   Dec 15, 2008

Every promise made was a wish from a star,
You could never relent nor go that far.
For I believe that you were never in need,
You walked upon advice as though you were to lead.

Yes, I'm thinking back to all those mistakes made,
Watching as what we had begins to fade.
I always thought that you would be true,
You'd paint this simple picture making everything new.

I always respected you and looked up to you so much,
I'd even worship the ground whereupon your feet would touch.
But you were nothing more than a simple existence,
Another soul trapped through Godless resistance.

I always wondered why you never once tried,
It was just another dark ocean wherein they cried.
I always wondered why you never took the chance,
You had every opportunity for a perfect dance.

But now I know what I knew from the start,
The first time I walked away should have been the first and last.
Cos every time it's the same old routine,
Can't things just be the same and not slashed by a galantine.

Why can't we just have things last,
Not stop and start upon dust soon cast.
Cos it's driving me insane the way things just change,
And everything made to fix just seems so deranged.

You walk upon this earth but you're all on your own,
There's no one to call out to in the sweetest tone.
You watch the ocean waves crash and think back to every time.
But even these simple words no longer ring that rhyme.

You look around to the people you once knew,
But they packed their things and soon flew.
You were the last but you were the only one,
You knew right from wrong but also had a taste for fun.

You could change destiny with the flick of your hand,
Let disasters be washed away and finally end.
You had a special touch that none could comprehend,
Every place seemed empty had you not attend.

You knew the right words to draw a heart to you,
A simple magical humor that touched more than a few.
Like iron cast upon stone your words would not fade,
Playing in the back of her mind as though their place initially made.

But you never really knew how much it really hurt,
That you say so many a thing and continually flirt.
But breaking inside was an innocent girl through every word,
As that care and concern was never again heard.

In the depths of an ocean let drown a soul,
Forge all goodness into life but make it whole,
Broken pieces fix with not one but many a painful memory,
Time will soon tell how she relived such agony.
