My Birthday

by Bhavin   Dec 23, 2008

This wasn't different from any ordinary day
The same wind that kissed me was blowing from bay
The same sun that smiled at me had risen from east
The same food that I would gulp was placed for feast.

People were in a hurry to complete their chores
While winter birds were fluttering over the sea shores
In a hurry, in a jiffy I left for my job
Only to be greeted with slangs by the mob.

It was same old fun with colleagues out there
And the evening passed away in despair
I came back home with tiredness and stress
And went for a bath to become cool and fresh.

As I sat on my desk to pen down my thoughts
I thought about my fights, I thought about applauds
Suddenly my sight went where the calendar laid
And I realised that it was my birthday....

    Bhavin,

Reading your verse I get the sesation of a person who has no one to remember his birthday and that leaves me feeling very sad. You are not old, don't you have parents that congratulate you on this day?
Anyway, it was written really well..it left me sad though.

    Take care,

    5/5 Ingrid
