On The Lonely Side Of The Night

by Deana   Dec 31, 2008

Dreams no longer sustain the heart
Realities blinding light
Face the inner voice that speaks
On the lonely side of the night

Silence forgets the sounds of love
Exhaustion from the fight
Sounds of planes into the clouds
On the lonely side of the night

Raindrops wash the cities sin
Homeless hide their plight
Hunger pains have lost their sting
On the lonely side of the night

TV speaks to sleeping eyes
Not searching for their sight
Preaches hope to wayward souls
On the lonely side of the night
