Shane the Shadow...

by Anthony Duvalle   Jan 1, 2009

Can you hold a cigarette in a mouth
That has no tongue and cannot shout?
Can you see her face from an eye
With a lack of pupil and ability to cry?

The answer is no

My hand cannot hold that which exists
Try if I may, but I cannot touch or kiss
My hands are transient as my eyes and lips
A shadow, I will pass through that which I miss

I always remain close but without any notice
I'd be easy to see, if she would turn her focus
I will never again touch that which I love most
Because that which I love sees me as a ghost...

That was beautiful. The emotions were so strong and the mood was balanced through out the poem. The rhyming was intelligent. Very creative, 5/5.
