B-day party

by Jessica   Jan 2, 2009

My friends
Throw a party for me
That some would die for
It's New Year's Eve
Everyone's going crazy
I'm in the cornor
crying
I see my best friend's face
As she watches my tears
She's hurt and upset
That I'm not having a blast
But is it my fault I miss him?
I stand up go into the bathroom
Wash off the smeared make up
And put on new
I apply my fake mask
As the final touch
My big fake smile
Appears
I walk out
Laugh at all the right things
Dance with all the right boys
Pretend I'm having a great time
I do exactly what I'm supposed to
I pretend everything's ok
As everyone counts down to midnight
12:00 hits
Everyone's screaming
And I scream along
Confetti flys in the air
Everyone's laughing
Everyone except
Me
Because my b-day can't be my bday
Without him
