What has happened to you?

by Tangible heartache   Jan 3, 2009

Cluelessness fills your sad face,
Your eyelashes wet with tears.
A shaking hand wiping them away,
You try to lock down your fears.

Worry falls upon your beaten heart,
Squeezing it till it shatters to pieces.
Choking down on your own cries;
You try to hide the lie that increases.

Keeping quiet on the pain that's attacking,
You swallow down the screams.
Colorful scenes of gory, blood filled pictures,
Pass your eyes as you try to dream.

Your heart beating on overdrive,
You awaken from your nightmares.
Trying to keep your own self together,
From your crying, mindless despair.

You've been hurt and destroyed,
Your own trust has gone away.
Wondering what has happened to you,
When did your own life go astray?

    Nice job!

some stuff though, the second stanza wound sound even more amazing if you changed "increase" to "increases."

and the second line in the 4th stanza needs to be rechecked, i think u had too many "you's" there

    but very nice poem!
