Twilight (fix'd)

by Gabba Gabba Hey   Jan 8, 2009

"All living things would fade and die from too much light or too much dark, if twilight were not."
-Howard Thurman

Dawn breaks.

Rays of sun spill from a broken line of thought,
like a balloon exploding and letting out a rainbow;

Smile, laugh! (can't you feel it waiting to burst?)

dance in the light, don't surrender to the haunts it creates!

there is more to life than floating in the clouds...and more to death than lying in the ground.

Darkness falls.

Cold, hard pins trash the serenity of the night,
like a smile destroyed by the visage of fear;

Frown, cry! (can not you feel it waiting to burst?)

stumble in the dark, do not forget shadows are only shed by light!

there is less to death than moving forward gloriously...and less to life than standing still triumphantly.

Epiphany strikes:

None will matter!

A harsh, corrosively beautiful glare shines from a joyous, dimly lit heaven,
Shedding both blackness and fluorescent yellow
onto a waiting world,

somehow,

bereft of both.
