How Many (2)

by Poetical Princess   Jan 18, 2009

As I sit here and think all the things I can think,
I wonder how much good I have done,
how many times I have winked.

How many people I have hurt, how many pants
how many shirts-I have worn,
How many babies were born, how many lives were torn-
by the way they were treated,
Those made them feel so defeated.

How many times have been shared, with others whom no one care.-Who made them feel so bare.

How many times I made people laugh,
I don't think I can do the math.

How many hearts I have warmed, to help them get through their storm.

How many times I have given,
to those whose hearts I have knitted.

How many feelings have I shot,
broke their hearts-made them rot.

How many things I have taken, "oh I don't know",
-please stop fakin'.

How many times have I prayed,
to not slip away and fade.

How many times have I thought of others,
we got to love one another.

How many times have you looked back on your life,
and know in the future you'll do right.

How many times will you read this
and be inspired to accomplish?

Ask yourself, "how many things have I done to please my God of all things, how many people have I taught the true reason to sing."

As I sat here and thought of all the things that I could,
I dare you to do the same,
go ahead I wish someone would.

This poem is inspired by some of the things that I have done in my life and the actions caused by them. It is asking what the things are that were done to help or hurt someone. I highly encourage others to ask themselves questions similar to the ones I have recited in my poem because you may be hurting someone without knowing, so you should think before you do anything or speak.
