The Unbreakable Chain

An unforeseen force is chaining us together
Bonding not only our mentality, but our souls
Each link of the chain represents in on-going chapter
I believe in no such thing as a "happily ever after"

A dark secret lays a burden on my lifeless heart
Making it unbearable to look you in the eyes
But I am distracted by your sudden temptation
How did I get myself in this perplexing situation?

Memories have been scared into my head
Many of sorrow and many regrets...
But the chains show no sign of weakness
As I continue to live in my cold world of bleakness

Show me a path and I will take it
I want some guidance on this never-ending journey
Some strength is what I really need
Whilst the tears from my eyes continue to bleed

Grey skies reflect my absence of light
The fire inside me has long ago died
It was you that let it flicker its way out
Just try and explain to me what this was about?
