You really weren't any different

by Matthew Schut   Jan 25, 2009

I've heard these lies way too many times
I've heard the promises with each girl
But why does it always seem to fall apart
And I'm again lonely in this world

What happened to this perfect world you used to say
What happened to the flowers so beautifully bright
What happened to word forever that you used to promise
And what happened to you saying it would always be alright

You see, I used to stand in the meadows with you
Running so freely and never looking back
I always knew that we would make it through
It was something that I thought I knew for a fact

But the storm started rolling in
And the rain began to pour
The love had seemed to fade away
And the sweet moments were no more

It turned to fighting and yelling
The thunder started to roar
Tears would pour down our faces
Forever had seemed to fallen to the floor

But instead we tried fixing the problem
Trying to stand out in the pouring rain
Nothing seemed to get any better
It's like my heart forever forgot your name

The lightning started to shoot across the sky
It was hitting trees and everything fell
The relationship was starting to get too hard
So much chaos, like someone rang the fire bell

I decided to finally say goodbye to this drama
I could not take any more of the pain
I told you that we were through
But it did not stop, it continued to rain

So here I am, standing in the rain
I have this bloody knife to my chest
I thought you said you wouldn't hurt me
And I thought you said you were different than the rest?

Wow! This is really good. Lots of emotion, and it reminds me of how I felt about Jason.
I love the style in which you write 5/5 :) SMILE!
