We Are Growing Distant

When we broke up I thought we were still tight.
We still said that we loved each other.
Even though we were going our separate ways.

I knew we would grow distant eventually.
But I didn't know it would be so soon.
I didn't know it would happen now.

I feel like we are strangers.
We don't talk as much as we did before.
I feel like I don't even know you anymore.

Or did I ever know you???
I wish we could go back in time.
And be as close as we once were.

I miss my little angel.
I miss saying how much I loved you.
I miss you calling you mine.

But this is the only way.
You are in your relationship.
And I'm in mine.

So I have to settle on this distant friendship.
