Her beauty was a curse

"You have such a gorgeous smile."
They always said to her.
"You must have a perfect life."
Of this they felt so sure.

But the truth of the matter,
No one ever knew.
What had really happened,
Or what she had been through.

Everyday she woke up.
and carved a smile in her face.
Inside she was dying,
But outside you'd find no trace.

She was a great actress,
Faking happiness everyday.
Truly she was miserable,
But she would never say.

The pain that she had suffered,
Or the hurt that she had been through.
How her happiness was captured,
Her faith and hope, too.

So the days continued,
As did her tears and pain.
Less and less her life she valued.
She would never be the same.

So what if she was beautiful?
For her beauty was a curse.
It never made things better,
it only made them worse.

Her beauty got her into this,
She had to find a way out.
The memories she couldn't dismiss.
So suicide she went about.
