Letters from the Early Departed

by JustJacq   Jan 31, 2009

Hey you, over there,
Do you still recognise me?
Do you remember who I am?
The one who left this earth too soon,
The one who lies burried and dead.

I know it's been quite a while,
I know you haven't heard from me in years.
I could tell you i've been busy,
but maybe it's better to be sincere.

I came around to say, I came around to tell, i'm sorry I left too soon,
I'm sorry our goals and dreams died with me like the playings of a sad tune.

I can see you've grown older, I can see your eyes look sad.
I wish I could have been there alongside you, I wish I had not left.

I wish I could look at pictures of me and tell you i'm quite old.
But, life took that away from me, I died when I was too young to be old.

I came around to tell you, that i'm sorry for your loss,
I'm sorry your loss meant the end of us and the music we brought.
I hope some day it makes sense, the way I had to die, because to me it's still a riddle
One i'm hoping i'll someday get to define.
