These Stars Are Our Stars

by Bradley Peter   Feb 1, 2009

Laying beneath these endless stars,
My heart is happily proud,
To have found a love like ours,
To say 'I love you' out aloud,

Though this world may start to crumble,
And the stars may start to die,
Our love shall never tip or tumble,
And will live on passed this sky,

We may not be blessed with riches,
Or with the joy of our off-spring,
Sometimes we may have those itches,
And yearn to hear that lady sing,

But in our hearts of hearts we'll know,
There is no ever denying,
Though, those stars may sweep low,
This love is never dying,

I really like the idea behind this poem. The middle 2 stanzas were my favourite. Nice flow and good choice of words, I liked that you didn't opt for the more obvious rhymes!

I really do think this is a sweet and heartfelt poem =] It's an honest piece and I can see you mature throughout each stanza. The overall flow worked out quite well and the promises you made held so much emotion, I as a reader I believed every word you said ^^ Brilliant job
