Life's lessons

by Amy Jo   Feb 17, 2009

As we get older, we start to change.
Never realizing our lives will rearrange.
The baby steps become leaps,
and the stress comes in large heaps.
We find those to lean on and those to hold dear,
but never really know which way our life will choose to steer.

The days pass to months and months into years.
And there are very few people who stay along for all the shed tears.
Very few who know how you feel before you say it,
and very few who will try and fix you after a terrible split.
There's those who will refuse to accept your negative past,
and those who will try to change you so you don't repeat their last.

Some look out for you cause they've been there too.
Sometimes its hard to decide what you should really do.
Everything happens for a reason and life will go on.
But there's always someone there to let you know when your wrong.
Being wrong isn't bad it's just learning from a mistake.
But after correcting them so many times you begin to look fake.

When your a teen its so hard to figure who you are.
And you feel like your life has gone way too far.
Just wait till your twenty or thirty years old.
And you know the true meanings of feeling so cold.
Crushes are easy to move on once you find true love.
But sometimes its hard to know the difference and fit the right glove.

Eventually you'll make your own decisions and except to be judged.
Because the only one worth judging you is yourself and your internal grudge.
Learn to move and accept the things you cannot change.
And believe me when I say your life will constantly rearrange.
