Conquer The Unknown

I dream in color,
Only on days like today.
When light is absent
In this colorful land of play.

My mind wanders
Jumping from cloud to cloud.
Remembering the pain,
Forgetting the sound.

Roses line the path
Of this dark and gloomy road.
But still I walk on
Carrying this heavy load.

It will always haunt
My slowly mending heart.
Trying to break me
And tearing my dreams apart.

They are all I have
When my heart is not longer lit.
Keep running,
This isn't the time to quit.
