They Shall Swim

They shall swim

Have you ever just sat and observed
The miracles under the sea
Have you ever taken the time?
To even learn what is free

Theres not a lot in the ocean
That is free like you and me
They are threatened everyday
By humans and what we believe

Do we really think its right?
To capture whats not ours
Do we really honestly think?
That we have the utmost power

We take what is never ours
And torture as we catch
Not even a humane death
We use anything to latch

We throw and toss whats not good
Not even a thought of why
Why are we so carefree?
When it comes to a creatures life

Maybe we are ignorant
And we simply cannot believe
That we are now destroying
The innocent under the sea

We say that its a resource
As an excuse its easily said
Are we so in denial?
That we capture so its dead

We use it for materials
That is simply not a necessity
We use it on our face
To hide our insecurities

We sell on the black market
Please hush its kept quiet
Hacking at the sharks fin
Then hide it so its out of sight

Greenpeace is coming
We even fight off our own
While whales are caught in your net
As you destroy them at home

Im sad as I know this
And its so hurtful to say
Humans have no empathy
They cant even take the blame.

Your not alone in your thoughts on the matter, and they are expressed well in this poem. Makes me want to get out there on the frontline, do a bit more than my current monthly contribution... I should plant some trees. (I'm actually not kidding)
Anyway, I'm going to get around to checking some more of your work. I admire your sentiment.
    Let the Force hang loose.
