Ray of Sunshine

by Jenna Rose Kat   Feb 22, 2009

After all the cuts and bruises,
So dreary was my heart,
So my black skies will shed my tears,
To me there was no new start,
But then something changed,
A friendly hand, a nice smile,
I had to admit it,
I hoped he'd stay for a while,
So are you going to stay?
Because I want you here,
Please don't go,
Because this life of mine is so cruel.

So hold onto me tight,
And don't let me slip away,
Hold me to your beating heart,
And let me take in your warmth,
You're my ray of sunshine.

Before you, I was dying,
I was fading into space,
I was torn, lost, and confused,
I thought I had no place,
I would walk the streets alone,
Engulfing myself in the pain,
Take it away; take it away,
Pull me out of the rain,
So are you here to stay?
Because I want you here,
Please don't go,
Because this life of mine is so cruel.

So hold onto me tight,
And don't let me slip away,
Hold me to your beating heart,
And let me take in your warmth,
You're my ray of sunshine.

Thank you for being there,
Thank you for helping me,
Thank you for everything,
For kissing away my melancholy,
You're my ray of sunshine.

So hold onto me tight,
And don't let me slip away,
Hold me to your beating heart,
And let me take in your warmth,
You're my ray of sunshine.
