Immortality

by Melissa   Feb 22, 2009

As each crimson drop hits the floor,
I remember you never opened the door,
Regret has turned into a river,
With a metal silver sliver.
Pain withdraws,
Life renews
Salty sorrow dries,
As I wipe my eyes,
Again they burst from all the lies.
All the times you've dragged me down,
But my grievence won't let it drown,
immortality takes play for now,
Not yet my time for the final bow,
Though my scars will tell a story,
I won't let you take the glory, of ending such a young life, by walking in and causing strife.

I can not find the flow/metre/rhythm of this write and it seems as though the rhyme scheme is not consistent throughout. Perhaps I am too traditional in my expectations of poetic verse.
