Heartbreak Hotel

by xToBeWithYoux   Feb 23, 2009

Dragging my cases
through the revolving doors.
It's a home from home
at the Heartbreak Hotel.

"Room for one",
mumbled towards the desk.
Those familiar keys
for Room 23 sparkle.

Screaming at wallpaper
doesn't solve anything.
Forget your troubles
at the Heartbreak Hotel.

Surely, he loved me?
Husband-to-be?
No. That son of a...
He packed my bags for me!

He's tying my noose,
watched by my replacement,
while I rip my heart out
at the Heartbreak Hotel.

Checking out as
I can't stay any more.
The hotel compliments
are beginning to haunt me.

Goodbye, Room 23,
for the last time.
I won't be staying again
at the Heartbreak Hotel.

A very unique piece, well-expressed emotions and thoughts, excellent flow too. There was so much meaning in every line, and you wrote a masterpiece, Emily. 5/5 from me, take care and God Bless!
