Life Taught Me

Life taught me to never
Think people will always be there
Never to believe that someone
Will always be willing or even care

Life taught me to always
Keep my heart hidden away
That if someone else gets to hold it
I'll never see a brighter day

Life taught me its not worth it
To bother to even try
Because when it comes right to it
Who cares once you die?

Life taught me being happy
Is a hopeless waste
It will dangle and torment you
But you'll barely get a taste.
